Okay, though these methods sound similar, and look similar, ... it is somewhat `illusionary'.
The Work - Energy method looks at the REAL WORK done by the REAL FORCES as the truss is loaded, and deformed.
The Virtual Work method looks at the `imagined' work done by `virtual' forces ... as the truss is loaded with (real) loads (and deforms under these real loads).
YIKES! ...
